Trailer is better than others i’ve had in the past, but it took much longer to get my trailer than i was told and I had to rent one in the meantime which pissed me off! I picked mine up at the factory and later found out the dealer keeps no inventory, just sell on the web. i think i’ll just buy one off a lot next time, thanks
Bought a 2016 8.5 x 30 with extra frame cross members, a bulldog hitch, 7k axles, and no roof vent. Wish I could have afforded a few more upgrades, but cost was an issue and I am happy with what I have. I am adding insulation between the outer skin and the inside plywood. This is allowing me the chance to fix the one aspect I was not delighted with, which was the method of securing the plywood to the steel tube framework. Air pressure (or something) was cranked WAY up on the nail gun and the fasteners were driven almost completely through the wood. I could just grab some of the sheets and pull them right off the walls, leaving every fastener still in the framework. Not a problem – I’ll take take of that. Every thing else is damn good. Love the trailer.
+ PROS: Strong, great looking, robust frame, excellent upgrades.
Bought a 16×7 Red dual axel 7000lb trailer with aluminum wheels, radial tires, motorcycle package etc. I paid to get the floor reinforced and the floor cross members to be 12 inches between centers instead of the usual 24 inches. This was supposed to give the trailer extra strength. While the price seemed to be okay but I am disappointed at the quality of the workmanship. When I arrived at the factory in Douglas Georgia they gave me a trailer that wasn’t finished. The rear section around the interior of the ramp door wasn’t installed. They asked me if I had ordered it that way. I told them no and they told me to go for lunch and come back after a few hours. I discovered that the interior light wasn’t working, this took about a hour to fix. The wire they used was defective (it had no copper wire inside the plastic coating). The caulking was poorly done as well I had to asked them to fix one area of caulking at the factory which they did. I drove the trailer from Douglas Georgia to Tampa Florida loaded it and drove to Toronto Canada. When I arrived I found that the RV side door with lock bar was not square and would not open. There was obviously some flex in the trailer and it shows on the RV door. It was fine when I picked it up. I called to find out about warranty and where they would like me to take the trailer to be fixed. I was asked to send some pictures of the door. I did this immediately. A couple of weeks later I resent the pictures with a note detailing the problem and information such as vin number and how to contact me. I never heard back from them. I have now taken the trailer to a trailer repair shop to give me a quote. While there they found that the seam on the Red Aluminum panel on the rear door (it consists of two pieces with a seam down the center) was not glued and it has been suggested that it will have to be removed to be fixed. This is a new trailer that’s a couple of months old. I hate to think of what else could will show up when more mileage is put on it. The repair guy who looked at it seems to think that they did a poor job of building this one.
My mistake for not looking around for a trailer.
Now that I have taken the one I ordered it is poor workmanship on mine.
A lot of things that come standard on others don’t come on a Diamond Cargo Trailer.
1. Missing a row of screws that hold the plywood on the wall. Ones that are there are not even in a straight line going down the wall.
2. Pull down door on the back has a ramp that flips over to make it easier to pull stuff up broke off after 3rd time of opening. ( poor design )
3. Lights are old style not LED (standard on others )
4. Only one brake works ( probably not Adj. would think it would have been done before sold) not sure on that one.
5. Roof has three seams in it (not a one piece roof as on others)
6. In looking for the hitch height called the Dealer where I bought it from to get right height hitch for my truck and could not be told what it was and then they told me every trailer they have is a different height.
The trailer frame, springs, tires and jack all seem to be well built and quality stuff. It does go down the road nice.
Just the money that I paid for this trailer it was not cheep now that I find I could have gone down to the factory and paid $2000. Less for it. Seem that paying that much more should have been a little better than it was.
Next time I will take more time and look around instead of just going down the road to local dealer.
+ PROS: Color
- CONS:ramp design
Quite of workmanship
Updated lights
No brochures
We’ve had our trailer just less than 3 years. One of the outer panels has a huge crack, a number of screws missing and several smaller cracks. I called Diamond Cargo and explained the problem. The person I spoke to about my warranty said, “Oh is it the front left panel? We’ve had a problem with that panel on a number of our trailers and we’re not sure why.” I was then informed I have to drive the trailer to their factory to be repaired. 270 miles one way, and I’m worried the panel is going to completely self destruct. I’d hoped they would give me a local option for repair but they’ve gone silent. If anyone else has had this problem please contact me. It seems like there is a bigger issue here and we may be able to get it addressed. bwilliams4841@gmail.com
- CONS:Outside panels are disintegrating in less than 3 years and warranty claims require taking your trailer to the factory.
Purchased a 20ft trailer in December 2016, they let me drive twice for the ordered trailer; first I drove from Florida to pick up a charcoal gray trailer and when I got to the plant, the brought me a white one which I did not ordered. Left for Florida after promising me to build me one with the right color to be picked up at the end of November 2016, due to the fact that I had to take the trailer with me to Boston. This company deals with CASH sales only, which to me should have been a RED FLAG! Anyway I picked up the trailer paid the bill and they hooked up the trailer, without explaining anything they let you go on the road! Very dangerous situation, driving 1300 miles to Boston and when reached home I realized, when I parked it and disconnect the trailer, that the EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM did not work. To me it was A WMD behind my truck and they have put me and my family in danger together with other road or highway users at that time. They never test their trailers, that is what KEITH STEWART, the manager told me. They refuse to fix the defect and they have no authorized facility in MA. BE AWARE AND DO NOT PURCHASE A TRAILER FRROM THEM! Claims require taking trailer to the factory. BAD SERVICE.
Purchased November 30th 2016, a 20ft trailer from Diamond Cargo and they hooked up the trailer without testing if everything functioned. Drove 13 miles to Boston and when parked at home I realized EMERGENCY BRAKE failed all along my ride. This is a dangerous situation because they put me and my family and other road users in danger! Its called a WMD to have a 20ft trailer without emergency brake behind your truck. The warranty required to bring the trailer to the factory in Douglas! Not happening without Emergency brake system. The Manager refused to have the trailer fixed at a local facility, which trailer is still under warranty. BAD SERVICE! Company does business on CASH deals only, which should have been a RED FLAG for me. DO NOT BUY FROM DIAMOND CARGO TRAILERS!
Worst place to buy a trailer. My trailer was 8 weeks late on delivery. First photos showed an error on vent placement and they never got it correct. I discovered several other issue when painting the inside of my trailer. The vents are not securely installed, of the six vents only two have more than one screw in them. This error was covered up by the plastic trim which was cut to fit in the hole for the vent. really a very poor installation. Also several screws holding the plywood to the side supports are too short to reach the side posts. This company apparently has no quality control. There ads talk about quality and buy the best but it is all not and not delivered at all in the product. Unless you can be there the whole time your trailer is being built do not buy from this company.
+ PROS: Price
- CONS:No quality control, can not follow instructions when purchasing options, Southern Trailer Depot is a joke and cares nothing about the customer.
I have purchased 3 trailers from different manufactures in the last 5 years and this is by far the worse. Shoddy workmanship, will not honor their warranty.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
Bought a diamond cargo enclosed trailer about a week ago. On our vacation trip to tennessee the bearing blew out on the front axle. We were coming down a small mountain road and could not pull over, went as slow as we could but when we got down we saw the full damage. The front hub was shot, the axle shot, brakes and spring broken. Diamond cargo was NO help at all, they don’t warranty the axles. You have to go thru the axle manufacturer if you have any axleor tie or brake issues. I WILL NEVER BUY A DIAMOND CARGO TRAILER AGAIN
Thanks for all the reviews yall have made my mind up no diamond cargo trailers for me or my friends sorry to hear yall bad experience but thanks for sharing this information
I have now bought 3 2-20′ and one 24′ of their trailers and loved every one of them. Very good construction. never had an issue with the exception of while picking my last one up, a strong storm blew through and everything got put on hold and backed up for about 2 hours. Then, a person picking up a trailer headed for Michigan accidentally hooked up to mine (lot’s of confusion because of the storm) and headed out. Everyone soon realized it and contacted them by cell phone and had them pull over at the interstate. I then took their trailer up and met them (was going the same way anyway) and swapped trailers. For my effort, the people at the factory gave me a free spare tire seeing as how I hadn’t ordered one.
I got a 2017 diamond trailer love it but company has zero customer service I damaged three panels outside sheet metal sent several emails to parts and call left message to call me trailer been down four months trying to get sheet metal never buy a diamond trailer
Not good quality. I own a business and fist time buyer of the Diamond. Will not recommend or every purchase again. Used 3 times and electrical shut down, lights filled with water. All plastic parts creaked and broke apart. Flooring started to split apart and break on dropdown door.
Purchased a 24’X 8.5′ cargo trailer in July of 2019. This trailer is still under warranty. The best advice I can give is “STAY CLEAR OF DIAMOND CARGO TRAILERS”. The warranty is worthless, mainly because of the warranty administrator. When you pay for that trailer, you are on your own. Do not, under any circumstance, think you are getting a good deal. That’s the best advice I can give. Good Luck
Bought a new Diamond Cargo Trailer in 2015. Saw the trailer was tilting to one side. When I checked the spring hinge had fallen away from the frame! And went through frame. The other one had also fallen off. When I contacted Diamond they said since I had not filled a warranty card our within 15 days it was out of warranty. In addition the trailer location I bought it from advised this is a recurring problem. If you want to buy an unsafe trailer… this is what you should buy.
This is the worst made trailer I’ve ever purchased. The people at Outlaw Trailer Sales are definitely outlaws. Not knowledgeable And lie to you about everything. I drove 1300 miles round trip to get this piece of crap. I paid for extra roof reinforcements for my a/c which they installed and I had to completely redo the roof after only two months of owning my new trailer. Their service is horrible and they will not talk to you over the phone. Warranty is handled by email only. Poorest workmanship I’ve ever seen. Spend more and buy local where you can take the product to them for service. It has cost me $1500.00 to do repairs to a 2 month old trailer. This is trash product and will not hold up for long.

Garbage trailer. The screws holding the outer siding penetrate the aluminum causing a hole. Bad quality, garbage.
