Trailer doors are attached to the trailer using a piano hinge or a strap hinge. A piano hinge is a continuous hinge used to connect the door with the door frame. Unlike a strap hinge that is externally attached to the door, the piano hinge is flush and does not require drilling into the outside surface of the door.
