January 12, 2020 at 10:25 am in reply to: Will Wells Cargo/Haulmark stand behind their warranty? #13295ModeratorModeratorUnfortunately this is not an uncommon problem with many trailer brands.
Also, it would really be great if you would post your comment under the comment page for Wells Cargo. People that are searching for a trailer will be able to see your review/comment easier. https://cargotrailerguide.com/trailer-brand/wells-cargo/
Where is your trailer rusting? Is it the entire metal of the trailer that has a problem?
ModeratorModeratorYour ramp door should have been built to hold 1500 lbs. Just to make sure, it is a good idea to contact your cargo trailer dealer and verify it with them.
ModeratorModeratorThe most common size is 205 R15 with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern.
Make sure to confirm this is what you need when by looking at the tire on the other side of the trailer.
ModeratorModeratorMany trailer owners, cargo or RV, have experienced water damage to their floor at one time or another.
It is important to find out if you have a water leak and then quickly repair it so more damage doesn’t occur.
Here is a great article that will show you how to easily fix this problem.

ModeratorModeratorThomas,
Please provide more detail about the cargo trailer.
What brand, width, condition, options, etc.
Once we have that info we can try and get you a price range.
Thanks
ModeratorModeratorMark,
Many trailers are built using the same brand axles and parts. Please post the brand of your trailer and the dealer where you purchased it.
We will be happy to help you make contact with them so you can get the parts you need.
ModeratorModeratorThanks for contacting us.
You have contacted us here at cargotrailerguide.com. We operate the web site.
It is best if you contact the factory/brand that built your trailer just to make sure you do not void your warranty.
As for tie downs, you can install D-rings that attach to the plywood flooring. Some d-rings are actually welded to the frame during installation for added strength.
I have also seen some that use long U-bolts that can be inserted through the floor and then wrap around the frame.
The type of d-ring really depends on what you plan to tie down.
I think that would be a good question for the manufacturer as well.
If we can be of further help just let us know.
Thanks again for contacting cargotrailerguide.com.
ModeratorModeratorBased on the information you have provided, it looks like you have a 5X8 cargo trailer.
To calculate the answer do the following:
2990 (GVRW) – 790 (trailer weight) = 2200 lbs of cargo capacity.Be careful to find out if Encores are recommended to tow a trailer. The cooling system and the suspension may also not be designed for towing. Damage to your transmission can occur and you may not even know it until it’s too late.
Be sure and check the owners manual “General Towing Information” and make sure. Otherwise, if you damage your vehicle it may not be covered by warranty.
It is better to be safe than sorry!
If you have any more questions just post them here on our forum.
ModeratorModeratorIf your numbers are accurate, even when your cargo trailer is empty, you may be already at the maximum towing weight as specified by the manufacturer of your vehicle.
You need to check the VIN label on the front side of your trailer and confirm the weight of the trailer.
What size is the trailer?
ModeratorModeratorJohn, First you need to find out the name of the company that manufactured your trailer. All warranty normally comes through the company that built it. You can find the name on the VIN label on the front corner/side of your trailer.
You can then get their contact information from our web site, or if you like, just post their name here on our forum and we will be happy to provide you with that information.ModeratorModeratorYou should contact the dealer where you purchased the trailer. You can also contact trailer supply companies such as http://www.textrail.com.
